How did we get here? - Part 5 - Disinformation Facilitator Framework and Complicity Index
After the last post , I took some time to really think about everything that was previously discussed. Once I collected myself, I didn't want to point to people , but processes. But, then, I realized that these disinformation narratives were and are seeded, amplified, and perpetuated by people , so it was time to see if a framework could be developed that could trace the actual key actors involved in disseminating disinformation through the Disinformation Pipeline to normalization, that point where the lie becomes accepted as simple, obvious truth by the entire target population. The three most important points developed in this dialog are: the Disinformation Facilitator Framework, the Complicity Index, which gauges full active complicity with seeded narratives to well-meaning passive complicity, and use of the Framework and Index to identify key actors and their levels of complicity across 6 narratives, one of them twice but framed in two different ways.
